PCApex.com & Appetite4tech.com Member Hosted Case Mod Competition

——————————————————————————–

Well I’m the first to say sorry for not updating in a while, Life has been really hectic with A4T’s renaming, server move etc, and then of course there’s real life.
The main factor in real life is my taking up my dj’ing/producing gloves after 12 years away from the scene, But more about that another day lol!

Here’s a major update for you and a contest that could very well rock the case-modding scene’s boat! Read on………..

“Thats right folks! Its time to show off your skills in a competition hosted by PCApex.com’s and Appetite4tech.com’s Membership. Modding for alot of people has slipped by the wayside and were starting to take notice in the lack of worklogs, so to try and bring back some of the glory of ripping the guts out of your case and influencing the industry of cases’ were gonna hold a little competition. As a added benefit of updating your cases’ bling factor and keeping your Pimp hand strong alot of very generous Sponsors have stepped up to the plate and offered some goods. On top of that alot of members stepped up and offered some of their gear to be given away also.

All other prizes will be consolation prizes that will be randomly draw for. The only thing you have to do to win one of those is enter.

The Rules

1. Mod your case in any way fashion or form…..literally anything goes as long as we can legally post it here without having Uncle Sam shut us down.

2. All mods have to be documented and for this competition only! No exceptions to this rule kiddies. If you are found to be a fookin contest troll that is submitting an entry that is not just for this competition than you will be flamed and laughed at by our local troll killers. We have several very talented members that have just the right touch in making your kind feel like you look. Be warned.

3. All entrants must post their intent to join the competition and what they will be modding in this thread or the one started at Appetite4tech.com. However you must post your worklog at both sites. PCApex.com and Appetite4tech.com both have been generous enough to host this competition and both sites deserve recognition for it, that is why we must insist that all entrants must post worklogs at both sites.

4. All pictures of your mod have to have either PCApex.com or Appetite4tech.com with a date written on something in the background. This is for proof that its a mod that is being done soley for this competition.

5. All projects whether finished or not will be judged on the 20th of August 2008 at 8pm central time. You have 1 whole month to lay yo Pimp hand down on your case, make it count! After the 20th any additions to your project will not count towards the competition but we do encourage you to finish no matter what, afterall we all like eye candy.

6. You might be thinking about just posting your intent to mod and giving a really good idea and just see how you fair on the cosolation prizes. This will not happen I can assure you. Only active worklog entries will be elegible for the consolation prizes.

7. Flaming is acceptable to a certain degree between contestants only. Dont take this too far as the Moderators will slap the sh!t out of you.

8. Lastly but not leastly, you must be a member of both sites. Post count does not matter nor reputation, as long as your willing to cut your case up and share it with all of us here at Appetite4tech.com and PCApex.com

Thanks again to all those that helped make this a possibility. Youve all been extremely generous and patient. Spread the word like a bad case of crabs, all new members are welcome

Ill be posting pictures and links to prizes as I get around to it, but just in case you missed the massive amount gear thats going to be given away.

After much anticipation VoidedWarranty has it’s first up to date review up under the new management team.
Although it’s not up on the homepage this is something we intend to correct very soon once the face-lift has been put in place.
Blake Foster, our resident code monkey has been a machine in the background re-coding the structure of the site from the ground up and hasn’t stopped for weeks! So a big thankyou is in order there;)

Look out for another review on a product from VIZO from us in the next few days from TheVoidSticker, Auther of the BlacX review…

It has been decided that Vw will undergo a name change very soon, This is to reflect upon it’s position in the scene and status under new management. Watch out for upcoming news on the situation….

VoidedWarranty under new ownership.

[ 2 Comments ] Posted on 02.05.08 under Scene news.

Today sees the beginning of a new era for VoidedWarranty.

The site has been bought from Smoked1 the previous owner by a team of five of its current members. This comes as good news as the team has been working like mad in the background re-designing the site both cosmetically and technically, so look out for Vw’s new look very soon!

Vw’s new owners Include myself ( MRMOBEUS. ), Blake Foster, Daniel Durland and two others. We have a new review that will be up soon after editing and more to come with products from the likes of Thermaltake, DangerDen, Vizo, Aerocool, Tuniq, Sunbeam tech and more…

VoidedWarranty may have made a bad name for itself in the past due to previous Admins not keeping to their word, not returning items to well known vendors amongst other minor troubles, But things are set to change under the new Management team and past wrongs if possible will be put straight.

It’s all about keeping it real with real people with real dreams and ideas, Watch out ‘www’ The new Vw is coming…..

So here’s to Vw and her new owners, may the site fair better under new sails!!

Signing out for now, Paul;)

Paul’s Top 20…

[ No Comments ] Posted on 02.05.08 under Paul's top 20 Case-mods

These Case Mods you see here are in my opinion the best Case-mods out there.

From the likes of Bill Owen, Stu King, Coolmeister, Defyant and others, These outstanding guys are really pushing the envelope and taking Case modding to an entirely new level.

Let me start with Bill Owen’s ‘100 Years of Harley Davidson’…

Bill at his CPU Magazine Photo Session…

Well here it is after months of hard work by Kjell “BeetleMan” Fransson, MadmodZ, Mobeus HQ is here…

Here Kjell and myself will keep the site updated with our current Case-Mod projects along with any ideas along the way. ( checkout ‘Paul’s thoughts’ section )

I will also be putting up what I would consider my Favourite Case-Mods and Scratch-Builds along with links to up and coming

projects that are worth drooling over!

I’ve come a long way since joining as a normal member over at pcApex, and made some amazing new friends. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the firm foundation

I have there.

Signing out for now, Paul;)
